BIO/
WORDS BRIDGE DISTANCES
American and Argentinian with Italian origins, today I live and work in Ojai, California as an Sculptor and Graphic Designer. I graduated at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, Italy "Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze" in 2013.
I often wonder of what the Art intends to express. This questioning has led me to a more intellectual approach, conceptual and emotional: the Civilization and Nature. I started to give to my sculptures symbolic meanings: organic forms were put in a continuous dialectic relationship with geometric volumes. The creative act and mind returns to me constantly to Nature, in a poetic travel. Shapes are idyllic and serene, but also tormented, agitated. Nothing is static, forms takes over space. Matter is alive, it transforms everything. The cycles of Nature remove old layers and renew them, just like life itself.
In the past, I have worked with alphabet and letters, and the fascination for this is reveals itself later in my sculptural work. So, the letter as well as the word in its form and content wants strongly to express itself through the material, in an emotive and conceptual way.
As mentioned in the dedication of my thesis in the Academy in Florence, "Words Bridge Distances". This has always been very characteristic for me being that my family is divided between Italy, Argentina and United States. The word goes beyond the gesture, the word is the only way to try to express the emotion, to be nearer. Not to communicate is a distance, a chasm, an abyss." Art intends to communicate and open questions. It is a way of thinking.
